Brooklyn Circus x Tricker’s extra shots

Some of you may or may not know, I’ve been lucky enough to shoot a little for The Brooklyn Circus. My most recent project, was the ever impressive Ticker’s collab Brogue boots. As most photographers can tell you, a fact of shooting, is that a huge portion of your work never gets used, and as a treat to my readers I’m going to share a small bit. These are the unused shots of the Honey Brown/Brown boots. Enjoi, and feel free to comment.

Red Wing Oxblood 6″ Moc Toe Boot

Once I got my grubby little mitts on a pair, I couldn’t help but shoot these boots. I’ve been a fan of Red Wings for years, and even more so because I can actually afford them. These Oxblood Redwings are almost guaranteed to be in my daily rotation once Bay Area summer(ha!) ends, as the color just screams Fall. I can’t wait to start breaking them in and getting some miles pummeled into that Featherstone leather. Check out my article rundown at Freeman Brand.

nike chronicles 「1971 – 1980」

During my monthly magazine raid at Kinokuniya, I came across what I have come to call, “The Nike Bible Vol. 1″. The Nike Chronicles covers the history and evolution of not only their footwear, but apparel, advertising, a freeze frame into sports of that era, and even some of their competitors shoes. Published by Lightning, the bible is in mostly Japanese, with the titles, dates, and silhouette names in English. A great pickup even if just to see the history of the Nike brand. I’m hoping to see a 1980-90 volume at some point, but only time will tell.

Also, those are my LDVs in the first picture, one of my favorite pairs of kicks. Shows you how some of the original silhouettes stand up to the test of time. If anyone has any in size 13, feel free to hit me up.

Visvim Gabo Hi

“Rarely” is a term I use when discussing my ability to obtain anything Visvim related. I’m a huge fan of the brand, although I’m sure after this post, Hiroki will RAISE PRICES! A few months previous, images of this season’s Gabo Hi, began to circulate. As the chatter on various forums came to a head, the overall opinion was that Hiroki had another hit.

Canvas and velvet uppers, with a liner of soft leather, and a natural cork foot bed, as is the norm in Visvim kicks. Comfort level is not a question with these, they hug you foot and while most would cry foul, these are even more comfortable sans socks. I can truthfully say I played the “over priced converse” card when I first saw pics, but having them in hand totally destroys that impression. The materials, construction, and overall attention to detail, is worth a shit ton more then your average pair of All Stars, though 400$ is still a bit of a hard pill to swallow.

The good guys over at Union LA carry these in a couple colors as well as a your other Visvim channels, so give them a holla if you’re itching to get a pair or two.
