Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Leather Jacket
Over the weekend, a very select set of boutiques in worldwide got a handful of probably the release of the year, in my eyes, from Converse. The shoes in question are, the Chuck Taylor All Star Leather Jacket, made out of high quality vintage leather motorcycle jackets, each pair is uniquely assembled so that no 2 pair are alike. Only 200 pairs have been shipped from Converse, so while I think they are probably good as gone, I think they may have been a slightly under the radar release. At 200$ a pop, you can be sure your local hipsters will survive another month on ramen for these.

The days of of hot continuous releases for the Nike Dunk seem to be a thing of the past, and now i think they are just grasping at straws. Case in point, the latest attrocity, Nike Dunk Low Sponge Bobs.
Nike Dunk Low GS Sponge Bobs
Brands such as BAPE have thrust Sponge Bob into the streetwear lime light, which I question on a weekly basis, and people eat it up like it was a Michelangelo painting on a t-shirt. Now thats one thing, but these are god aweful, and gawdy beyond reason. If i saw someone wearing these I’d be forced to look away, if only to stop myself from laughing. I mean even the hardest thug would look like a fool in these. I think the only saving grace for these is the GS. What does that stand for you ask? Grade school, these shoes aren’t meant for grown ass kids, but for regular ass kids. but still, I think its bad parenting to put these on your child.

Thankfully they are only available right now in Japan with no US release date in hand. Did I mention that I don’t like them?

Here is an interview with one of my favorite artists of all time, Mr. James Jarvis. One of the guys responsible for the vinyl toy craze around the world, as well has a huge influence on streetwear culture. If you’ve never heard of him, take a second and culture yourself.
