iBrickIn case you hadn’t heard, something called the iPhone was released today by some company named Apple. But from the looks of it, it’s probably the worst launch of any phone ever an Apple product. At least 95% of people I know who tried to purchase one this morning have come away with either a bricked or an un-activated phone. Now I promised I wouldn’t launch a rant about my iPhone hatred, so I will let these quotes and articles do the work for me.

I could go on for awhile but you get the point.

From Woz himself:

“A little faster downloading of web pages, and it has a GPS [Global Positioning System] chip built in. But, you know, these aren’t, like, break-the-bank items…A lot of the people I know just aren’t going to upgrade yet. - Steve Wozniak

And the iPhone/Apple quote of the year:

I am continually amazed at the level of innovation at Apple, coupled with a near catastrophic lack of common sense. I guess the maxim is true - brain smart, but not enough common sense to come out of the rain. - Random Guy

Just a note: I DO own an iPhone, so i’m not some random hater.

Air Max 90 retro

air max 90 retro

Seems that one of the most sought after shoes, in awhile is getting retro’d this month. I’m referring to the Infrared Air Max 90. This re-release of the Infra will finally let those of use who missed out/are too broke to afford an OG pair, to grab the coveted shoe. Word is that they will be released in two flavors; premium, which is nubuck and ostrich leather, and classic, which uses the original materials. Look for them to hit shelves, in late July at your local Nike retailer. See you in line!

Shepard Fairey x Billy Idol

Posted under art, music by eric

After Shepard Fairey’s shove into the light of mainstream media with his Obama print, he hasn’t rested on his laurels by any means. He’s recently taken on doing package design and a screen-printed poster for Billy Idol’s new Idolize Yourself collection. Idolize Yourself contains 31 tracks, including the classics, a couple live tracks, a pair of previously unreleased cuts and two new exclusive songs. You can check out the promo site at BillyIdol.net. As a child of the 80s, this piece is just awesome enough to hunt down. Sorry I don’t have some Billy Idol song name pun to end this post on.

NERDxSantogoldxTheStrokesUnder normal circumstances, I wouldn’t be on Myspace if they had the cure for cancer on the front page, but by some stroke of dumb luck, I found a little gem of music. The collaborative song “My Drive Thru” by N.E.R.D., Julian Casablancas of The Strokes, and Santogold, was done for the Converse “Century” celebration. This is a commemoration of Converse being in the shoe game for 100 years. Its really hard to comprehend any company being around for 100 years, yet alone a sneaker company. Regardless, here’s to 100 more years of great shoes, and great music. Enjoi
