KAWS x Yue Minjun (岳敏君)
Posted under art, designer toys by eric
correction: KAWS hardcore collectors, time to break out your platinum AMEX card. Starting today (june 27), Taiwan’s gallery space Museum of Tomorrow (MOT) will be hosting a capsule exhibition, featuring five of the most prominent Chinese artists in the contemporary art world. One of the items up for sale is a combo piece between New York artist KAWS and Chinese artist, Yue Minjun.
The catch is, each piece is NOT sold individually, but as a complete set of five. There will be about 100 of these sets available at the low low price of 10,000$. So start figuring out which kidney you wanna keep, and which child you can do without, because once these are gone, you can beat they will be in private collections for some time.
For more pictures, details, or to see the other items at the show, check out freshnessmag.com.

If you are gonna blow your chance at a job, might as well do a good job of it. I tip my glass to you sir, job well done.
snake eyes (best g.i. joe ever)

One thing that I can say I’m glad stuck with me from childhood, is my love of toys. When I was but a wee lad, it was all about transformers and G.I. Joes, but being just a kid without any type of exploitable skills, I was at the mercy of my parents to purchase toys for me. And like most kids, this pleading/bargaining/falling out, was usually in vein, and probably resulted in a pop up side the head. Now I’m an adult, and my exploitable skill has put me in a position to buy whatever fuckin toy I want, but thinking about a 20 something sitting in a room playing with G.I. Joes just seems a bit weird to me. That was until i saw the upcoming 12″ snake eyes release from Sideshow Collectibles.
dedication

I can honestly say, that with gas prices the way they are, that I’m glad I live in a city that embraces alt forms of transportation. But this is probably a bit of dedication to the movement that i’m not ready for, but bad ass, none the less.
